Benefits of Drinking WaterLike it or not Water is the essence of life and is needed by every cell in your body.
Approximately 60%-70% of your body is made up of water. It is the main ingredient of all body fluids, blood including lymph, digestive juices, urine, tears and sweat.
Knowing this, it makes sense to understand that water is involved in almost every bodily function such as, circulation, digestion, absorption and the all important elimination of pregnancy!
Drinking water is probably the most important part to any natural weight loss program.
How much Water should I drink a day?The amount you need varies from person to person depending on size, climate, diet and activity levels, but I would say that the recommended amount is for most people.
Dehydration causes stress on the body and that stress will cause even more dehydration so it is better to keep everything bouyant and drink 4 pints of good, naturally cleaned water each day - throughout the day!
It is important to drink little and often to keep hydration topped up every hour! It isn't adviseable to drink it all in one go!
It is best to sip water through the day and never drink more than 2 pints in one hour. Do not excede 6 pints in any day.
If you are a runner or professional athlete then you may need to trust your judgement and drink more than that but never excede 6 pints, but on average, 4 pints (or 2 litres) of water per day is recommended for the average person.
What type of Water is best?Avoid tap water - tap water has been known to be safe to drink but the cleaning process may not clear many unwanted environmental pollutants that can cause harm and stress to the body. If you are drinking tap water I strongly advise you to invest in a home filter to take some of the nasties away.
Bottled water is a much better option than tap water, but watch for the sodium content level in these waters, you do not want those to be too high! There are of course more expensive options such as an under the sink filter that filters from the mains and comes via its on tap, such as Reverse Osmosis - these whole house filters and distilled water filters are investments worth every penny! This means that you can cook and wash all foods with amazing water!
