Raw Snacks and Raw Food

Raw Snacks and Raw Food Eating a raw food diet often seems extreme, but in reality it is very simple and totally amazing!

We are 100% spoilt for choice now days compared to eating raw 10 or 15 years ago, in fact most supermarkets now stock some raw food (especially chocolate,) superfood snacks and goodies!

It is not just about eating salad and juices, raw food eating has not been taken onto a different dimension totally.

Mulberries, goji berries, bee pollen, raw chocolate, green smoothies, hemp milks, almond milks, raw nut butters, suma, reishi mushroom powder, maca, lucuma, mesquite, cacao nibs and powder, coconut milk and so on!
We are totally spoilt for choice and therefore not able to get bored or have nothing to eat!

Olives, avocado, flax crackers, raw cashews, sea spaghetti, nori sheets... did you know that seaweed is so packed with goodness?

Drinking water? Water is a super hero food, the one thing that regardless of what you are eating or into make sure you are drinking enough of. 8 glasses each day - no excuse!

When you make your next meal choice, breath and just see if you could make it 50% or more raw... Bet you can!

I have run across a really yummy looking recipe:

Nutty Choco Mousse Pie

Pie Crust:
2 c. almonds, soaked overnight (I dehydrated mine overnight)
5 pitted prunes
1/4 c. honey
2 Tbl. shredded, unsweetened coconut
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Mix in food processor, until chopped, well mixed, but still chunky. Press into glass pie dish. Dehydrate 12 hours at 105 degrees.

Filling:
1/2 avocado
1 Tbl tahini
2/3 c. almonds, soaked overnight (I dehydrated mine overnight)
2 Tbl carob powder
2 Tbl honey
1 tsp vanilla
1/3 c. pure water

Mix in food processor until well mixed, but still a little chunky. Pour into pie crust.

Garnish:
almonds, whole

Put a few whole almonds in center of pie for final touch.

I have no idea where you live, but some places have great food co-ops such as Country Life Natural Foods and Azure. Enjoy!
