Stress is a known killer and common everyday problem. Epsom salts really do help relieve stress from the body so are an easy way to reduce stresses.

The salts absorb magnesium into the body helping to relieve stress as magnesium helps to produce serotonin which lifts your mood creating lovely feelings of relaxation!

Epsom salts are mainly used to soak in the bath with but can also be used as an all body exfoliate when mixed with oil. This assists in the removal of dead skin and helps to promote circulation.

They are also really effective when used as a foot soak which relaxes and refreshes the feet and helps to rid nasty odours! They can also be used to exfoliate the face.

How can you use Epsom salts?
It is usual to put 1 to 2 mugs into a hot bath and to soak for 20 mins. I recommend that you cool yourself down after the bath and go to bed!

For a Foot Soak a tablespoon can be used in a bowl or foot bath and again leave the feet in for 20 minutes.

For a Body Detoxification mix some salts in your hand with some olive oil and then massage into the body in the bath or shower! Fabulous...

For a Facial - use a teaspoon mixed with a facial cleanser and scrub. Wash clean with water and tone and moisturise as usual.

Can you use Epsom salts during Pregnancy?
Yes you can!

Epsom Salts are a safe and really effective way to keep you free from unwanted toxins during pregnancy. Their nurturing and drawing effect upon the body is by no means harmful to your pregnancy as long as you use safe amounts of salts in your bath.

During pregnancy I would recommend 1/2 to 1 cup of salts in a bath once a week.

Dry Skin Brushing is also a very safe and effective way to keep toxins at bay during pregnancy.
